John Fury, the father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is expecting his son to demolish Deontay Wilder in their upcoming trilogy fight.

They fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in December 2018. Fury went down twice in the contest.

The rematch took place in February 2020, with Fury dropping Wilder twice and stopping him in the seventh round to capture the WBC title.

Their third encounter was scheduled for July 24, but it was postponed when Fury came down with COVID-19.

They will now collide on October 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There has been a lot of controversy in the aftermath of the rematch.

Wilder made several allegations – including a serious claim that Fury may have loaded his gloves in the second fight.

The once-beaten boxer is being prepared by former foe Malik Scott, who feels Wilder is improving and making the right adjustments in training camp.

John Fury is not expecting a close encounter and has no concern about Scott’s involvement in the fight. He believes his son will wipe Wilder out in bruising fashion this time around.

“He doesn’t even deserve a third fight, does he? He’s a horrible person that got battered to death. What can he do? He’s not improved, has he? With his Mickey Mouse coach there. I’ve seen what’s going on with them. Tyson will annihilate him this time,” John Fury told Boxing Social.

“He’s had a reprieve because Tyson’s got COVID-19. But when Tyson gets him, it’ll be the end of Deontay Wilder. He’s only in it for a few quid anyway. Where’s he gonna get another payday if he doesn’t fight Tyson? Nowhere. He’d be working on the buses in wherever he’s from.”
