Ander Herrera saw the funny side of his former Manchester United teammate Marcos Rojo’s furious reaction to Boca Juniors’ Copa Libertadores defeat.
The Brazilian side had a goal ruled out by VAR as they were beaten on penalties by Atletico Mineiro.
And players were furious after the final whistle with Boca players try to storm the opponent’s dressing room while police appeared to use tear gas on them.
One video also appeared to show former Manchester United defender Rojo wielding a fire extinguisher as chaotic scenes ensued following the finish.
And Herrera couldn’t hide his amusement following the antics on social media as he posted an image of the pair together at United with a fire extinguisher pasted onto Rojo’s hand as well as adding a laughing face emoji.
One Brazilian outlet claim the Boca players were trying to get into the Atletico Mineiro dressing room as that was where the match officials had sought refuge.
And Boca midfielder midfielder explained his side’s furious reaction after the final whistle.
Gonzalez said: “Without a doubt, everyone can see that. We scored a good goal, and the fact is that we deserved to win the first game as well.
“This hurts, we feel bad. CONMEBOL [the South American Football Confederation] need to look at the refereeing.”
